Hi guys, today we are going to talk about IMC, Integrated Marketing Communications.

What is IMC communication?

IMC communication is to standardize all products or serves information and regulate various promotion channels, so very parts inside IMC will be connected to create a reticulated promoting model. So that customers or potential customers can receive the integrated information to generate purchase behavior and improve user loyalty.

There are four keys in IMC I really want to share with you:

Consistency:

In IMC, ensuring the consistency of information consistent is very important. Brand image, product positioning or product information all need to be consistency to customers. Let us use product promotion as an example to explain this idea, customers must contact different advertising channels for the same product information, if the product information cannot be unified. Customer will receive lots of information from the products, they need time to digest that information, and during this process some of customers may lose passion.


Community:

Establishing communities for customers by using different channels to let customers directly communicate with “products” is also very important. Because customer can give feedbacks or suggestions to product. By organize events, emails, questionnaires and recommendations to improve users’ product using experience and increase their brand loyalty.


Cooperation:

Because IMC has very huge task load, different departments need to cooperate with each other. Just like a puzzle, each department need to play their own role to run the whole IMC plan smoothly to deliver product or service information to customer or potential customers to improve the purpose of purchasing behavior.

Company needs to establish a good CRM plan, set up a company resource database, and install company service chats. Because good communication facilities are the most critical part of the sustainable implementation of IMC. The efficiency of the company’s internal communication determines the efficiency of IMC implementation, and sometimes it is more important to solve a customer’s problem in time for communication with customers than to have no problems. The efficiency of communication determines the speed and extent of the implementation of the IMC plan to a certain extent. Quality and speed are extremely important for the release of a product.

It is important to focus on what is suitable for customers and using different channels to promote and get customer’s feedback. It can determine whether promotion of product is successful. Different people have different preference in traditional and new media. For people who like to go out for fun, work or people who drive, traditional media such as billboard and radio can be applied for promotion. For people who enjoy using mobile phone or pay attention to internet celebrity, social media like Facebook, Instagram, Viral marketing, YouTube and paid sponsorship may be applied. Applying different marketing strategies to suitable target market can help to increase brand equity and brand loyalty. People’s purchase intention can be raised.

      I also learnt it is also important to make effective internal communication and organization in the company to make the whole IMC plan run with success.
